A Rainy Morning
It is early morning. Lina wakes up and hears the sound of rain.
Tap tap tap — the drops fall on her window.
She runs to the window and sees gray clouds in the sky.
Her mother, wearing a long blue dress and a soft beige hijab, smiles and says, “Looks like it’s a rainy day, sweetie.”
Lina nods and says, “I love the rain!”

إنه صباح باكر. تستيقظ لينا وتسمع صوت المطر.
طرط طرط طرط — تتساقط القطرات على نافذتها.
تركض إلى النافذة وترى الغيوم الرمادية في السماء.
تبتسم والدتها، مرتدية فستانًا أزرق طويلاً وحجابًا بيج ناعمًا، وتقول: "يبدو أنه يوم ممطر يا حبيبتي."
تهز لينا رأسها وتقول: "أنا أحب المطر!"

Lina puts on her yellow raincoat and her red boots.
Her mom gives her a small pink umbrella.
“Don’t forget this,” she says kindly.
Lina laughs, “I look like sunshine in the rain!”
They both laugh together before leaving the house.

ترتدي لينا معطفها الأصفر المقاوم للمطر وحذاءها الأحمر الطويل.
تعطيها أمها مظلة وردية صغيرة.
تقول بلطف: "لا تنسي هذه."
تضحك لينا: "أبدو مثل أشعة الشمس في المطر!"
تضحكان معًا قبل أن تغادرا المنزل.

Lina and her mom walk down the street.
The rain makes little puddles on the road.
Lina jumps in one and splashes water everywhere.
Her mother laughs and says, “Careful, my little frog!”
Other children walk by with colorful umbrellas.

تسير لينا ووالدتها في الشارع.
يصنع المطر بركًا صغيرة على الطريق.
تقفز لينا في واحدة منها وتنثر الماء في كل مكان.
تضحك أمها وتقول: "انتبهي يا ضفدعتي الصغيرة!"
يمر أطفال آخرون يحملون مظلات ملونة.

When Lina arrives at school, her teacher greets her at the door.
“Good morning, Lina! Did you bring the rain with you?”
Lina giggles, “Maybe!”
The classroom smells fresh because of the rain.
She takes off her wet coat and sits beside her friend Maya.

عندما تصل لينا إلى المدرسة، ترحب بها المعلمة عند الباب.
تقول: "صباح الخير يا لينا! هل أحضرت المطر معكِ؟"
تضحك لينا: "ربما!"
تشم رائحة الانتعاش في الفصل بسبب المطر.
تخلع معطفها المبلل وتجلس بجانب صديقتها مايا.

After school, the rain stops.
The sun comes out and a rainbow shines in the sky.
Lina points up, “Look, Mama! A rainbow!”
Her mother smiles and says, “Beautiful things come after the rain.”
Lina nods happily, holding her mom’s hand as they walk home together.

بعد المدرسة، يتوقف المطر.
تخرج الشمس ويظهر قوس قزح في السماء.
تشير لينا إلى الأعلى وتقول: "انظري يا أمي! قوس قزح!"
تبتسم أمها وتقول: "الأشياء الجميلة تأتي بعد المطر."
تهز لينا رأسها بسعادة وهي تمسك بيد أمها في طريق العودة إلى المنزل.
