 The Secret of the Old House

It was a cool Friday evening when Mariam, Layla, and Noor decided to take a walk near the edge of their small town. They loved exploring new places together. As the sun began to set, they noticed an old, dark house behind a group of tall trees.

كان مساء الجمعة لطيفًا عندما قررت مريم وليلى ونور التنزه بالقرب من أطراف مدينتهن الصغيرة. كنّ يحببن استكشاف أماكن جديدة معًا. ومع غروب الشمس، لاحظن وجود منزل قديم ومظلم خلف مجموعة من الأشجار الطويلة.

The house looked empty and broken. Its windows were dusty, and the wooden door hung open. A strange wind blew from inside, making a soft whispering sound. “Let’s check it out,” Mariam said with a smile. Layla shook her head nervously.

كان المنزل يبدو خاليًا ومتهالكًا. نوافذه مغطاة بالغبار، وبابه الخشبي مفتوح قليلاً. هبت رياح غريبة من الداخل تُصدر صوت همس خافت. قالت مريم بابتسامة: "دعونا نستكشفه". هزّت ليلى رأسها بقلق.

Noor looked at her two friends and said, “We came this far. Let’s just look inside for a minute.” They slowly stepped through the creaky door. The smell of old wood and dust filled the air. The floor made soft cracking sounds under their shoes.

نظرت نور إلى صديقتيها وقالت: "لقد وصلنا إلى هنا بالفعل، دعونا فقط نلقي نظرة سريعة بالداخل". خطون ببطء عبر الباب الصرير. امتلأ الجو برائحة الخشب القديم والغبار. وأصدر الأرض صوت تكسير خفيف تحت أقدامهن.

Inside, they found an old piano covered in dust and a broken mirror on the wall. Noor touched the piano keys, and a strange note echoed through the house. “That’s creepy,” Layla whispered. Suddenly, they heard footsteps upstairs.

في الداخل، وجدن بيانو قديمًا مغطى بالغبار ومرآة مكسورة على الحائط. لمست نور مفاتيح البيانو، فصدر صوت غريب تردد صداه في أرجاء المنزل. همست ليلى: "هذا مخيف". وفجأة سمعن خطوات في الطابق العلوي.

They froze. No one else was supposed to be there. Mariam whispered, “Maybe a cat?” But the footsteps were heavy — too heavy for a cat. The girls looked at each other, and Noor pointed toward the staircase. “We should see who it is.”

تجمدن في أماكنهن، فلم يكن من المفترض أن يكون هناك أحد. همست مريم: "ربما قطة؟" لكن الخطوات كانت ثقيلة – أثقل من أن تكون قطة. نظرت الفتيات إلى بعضهن، وأشارت نور نحو الدرج: "علينا أن نرى من هناك."

They climbed the stairs slowly. Each step creaked loudly. When they reached the top, they saw a door slightly open, and a light flickering inside. Mariam pushed the door gently. Inside the room, there was an old diary lying on a table.

صعدن السلم ببطء، وكل درجة تصدر صريرًا عاليًا. وعندما وصلن إلى الأعلى، رأين بابًا مفتوحًا قليلاً، وضوءًا يومض من الداخل. دفعت مريم الباب برفق، ووجدن داخل الغرفة دفتر مذكرات قديمًا على الطاولة.

Noor opened the diary carefully. The first page said, “If you read this, the house will no longer be empty.” The words sent chills down their spines. Layla gasped. “Who wrote this?” she said in a shaking voice.

فتحت نور الدفتر بحذر، وكانت الصفحة الأولى تقول: "إذا قرأت هذا، فلن يكون المنزل فارغًا بعد الآن." شعرن بقشعريرة تسري في أجسادهن. شهقت ليلى قائلة بصوت مرتجف: "من كتب هذا؟"

Mariam flipped more pages. There were drawings of the same house, but one picture showed three girls standing inside — they looked exactly like them. Noor dropped the diary in shock.

قلبت مريم بعض الصفحات، ووجدت رسومات لنفس المنزل، لكن إحدى الصور أظهرت ثلاث فتيات يقفن بداخله — وكان شكلهن مطابقًا لهن تمامًا. أسقطت نور الدفتر من يدها من شدة الصدمة.

The flickering light went out suddenly, and the door slammed shut behind them. The sound echoed through the house. They screamed and ran to the door, but it wouldn’t open.

انطفأ الضوء المتذبذب فجأة، وأغلق الباب خلفهن بقوة. تردد صوت الإغلاق في أرجاء المنزل. صرخت الفتيات وركضن نحو الباب، لكنه لم يُفتح.

Then, from the dark corner of the room, a soft whisper said, “You found my diary…” The girls turned around — and saw a shadow moving toward them.

ثم، من زاوية مظلمة في الغرفة، جاء صوت همس خافت يقول: "لقد وجدتِ مفكرتي..." استدارت الفتيات — ورأين ظلًا يتحرك نحوهُن.
